RESOURCES & TOOLS I USE
When I first started on social media with My Dapper Self, and consecuently began writing this blog, I was pretty much completely lost as to how I could make this work without being too much of a hassle while still managing to have a 9-6 job.
With some research and help from reading lots of forums and blogs I found it wasn’t that hard to get things up an running. Although I am still learning about a lot of things as I go along, the following tools have been immensely helpful in creating this blog and managing My Dapper Self.
If you are looking to start your own blog, I would definitely recommend checking out these resources and tools, which I hope will be an ever-growing inventory.
WordPress – My Dapper Self is built on WordPress, which is a super easy bloggin platform that can also allow you to build a whole website in a very user-friendly manner. Most of you should be familiar with this platform, but for those who haven’t heard of it before, I definitely recommend giving it a try. And it’s FREE, so what do you have to lose? 🙂
ElegantThemes – As I was starting to build this site I spent many hours looking for the best Theme that could fit to all the needs that I had. What can I say? I just loved Elegant Theme’s Divi theme, which is full of cool features, a very easy to use interface and what made me a big fan was the amazing customer support you get. I have used their themes on several websites now.
HostGator – I use HostGator’s hosting plan for my websites, email accounts and then some more (still getting to know all the cool little things that come with their hosting packages). Overall, I am super satisfied: no down-time (this is essential), works great with WordPress, great support and turn around time for all my support tickets. And their prices are fantastic! Check them out!
MailChimp – This is where I manage My Dapper Self’s email list, create newsletter s and adminitster all kinds of campaigns. I absolutely love the option to grab a template, make the necessary changes and set up a campaign in a matter of minutes.
Hootsuite – If you are looking for a very robust (yet very easy to use) tool to manage your social media accounts like Facebook, Instagram, Tumblr, Twitter, etc. Then you will love what Hootsuite can do for you: all your accounts in a single page, scheduling posts, managing follower interactions, and a lot more. A must for anyone with presence on several social media platforms.
As always, wishing you all the best, dapper tribe!
